MULTIFAMILY LAND ACQUISITION MANAGER



Summary:  SC Bodner Company is looking for a passionate, aggressive real estate professional to join our Development Team as a Multifamily Land Acquisition Manager at our new corporate headquarters in Carmel, Indiana. In this role, you will be an essential part of the land acquisition and development team for multifamily projects.  You will work closely with our Director of Development and Development Manager to source new deals, and provide analytical research and due diligence support to qualify identified development opportunities.  You are our ideal candidate if you love to aggressively network and possess a combination of high-level communication skills and analytical abilities.


REQUIREMENTS:

Training/Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Driver’s License


Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance or Business required, emphasis in Real Estate desired.
  • A minimum of two years experience in real estate; land acquisition, brokerage, development, or similar role. Multifamily experience is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships easily; uses diplomacy and tact.
  • An aggressive approach to achieving goals, a strong work ethic, pursues everything with high energy, and drive, and does not let challenges deter progress.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identification of on and off-market site acquisition opportunities within identified target markets to build a quality deal pipeline.
  • Creating and maintaining relationships with owners, brokers, stakeholders, government agencies, and consultants in target markets.
  • Conduct research on approved markets to assist in creating the project sourcing strategy, along with the prioritization of submarkets within each market.
  • Travel to target markets for site selection trips, meet with local market leaders and create a local presence for SC Bodner Company in a select group of markets.
  • Conduct outreach with municipalities to drive interest in SC Bodner Company and our rental housing product; obtain an understanding of areas/sites where the municipality would support apartment housing development.
  • Assists in the underwriting of potential land development acquisitions; supply/demand, rent/sales comparables, occupancy, capitalization rates, and Pro-forma assumptions.
  • Presents potential deals to senior management for buy-in.
  • Prepare letters of intent (“LOIs”) and other various paperwork in advance of real estate transactions.
  • Implements development vision on project details; manages development schedule
